In 2006, Eric Bembry assured me I would be safe in moving from a truly safe and profitable fixed AIG annuity to a variable ING annuity. He also said he would be there at Citi because the company was, after, Citi.

On both counts he misled me.

First, my variable ING annuity has now lost, in 18 months, not only any gains it made, but also $4,000 of its principal. Secondly, Mr. Bembry is no longer with Citi and cannot be located.

I have come to realize that brokers exist to do one thing only: to separate the cash from people who work real jobs. He took his commission and left.

In eight years with Citi and AG Edwards I have had eight different "brokers&q uot; service me. Each as lost my money while taking a piece of it as their own in commission. And all but the last two brokers have departed, to be followed soon by my current "brokers&q uot; I'm sure.

Seems to me that you probably weren't complaining when the market value of this investment was up since you did mention you had gains. I'm a long term investor. Unless you only intended to invest your money for only 2 years, it doesn't seem you were misled. (that's just my opinion) It's just like my advisor always tells me, "I can't make the market go up or down, I can only put your money in a position for long term growth."
